====== How to download BootCaT for Mac ======

**READ THIS CAREFULLY, DON'T JUST DOWNLOAD IT BECAUSE IT WON'T WORK!**

Download BootCaT from here and install it:

https://bootcat.dipintra.it/download/BootCaT-1.57_Intel.dmg

If you want the Apple Silicon version download this (if you're not sure what "Apple Silicon" means, then use the link above):

===== Installation guide =====

**NB:** you'll need to do this only **once**, after the first time, BootCaT will open normally.

  * Try to start the App, **you need to this this at least once, otherwise the rest of this guide will not work**, you'll see something like this (this is normal):

  * Click "OK" or "Done", **do not** "Move to Trash" or you'll have to re-install BootCaT.

  * Open "System Settings..." from the Apple menu:

  * Scroll down and click on "Privacy and Security" and then on "Open Anyway":

  * Now you'll have to confirm that you want to open BootCaT anyway:

  * Finally you'll have to confirm using your password or fingerprint:

  * From now on BootCaT will open normally.

===== Why do I have to do this? =====

Since version 10.15.X "Catalina", MacOS prevents non-notarized applications downloaded from the Internet from running.

Since BootCaT isn't notarized, the workaround presented here is needed to and run the App.
