How to download BootCaT for Mac

READ THIS CAREFULLY, DON'T JUST DOWNLOAD IT BECAUSE IT WON'T WORK!

Download BootCaT from here and install it:

If you want the Apple Silicon version download this (if you're not sure what “Apple Silicon” means, then use the link above):

https://bootcat.dipintra.it/download/BootCaT-1.57_Apple_Silicon.dmg

NB: you'll need to do this only once, after the first time, BootCaT will open normally.

• Try to start the App, you need to this this at least once, otherwise the rest of this guide will not work, you'll see something like this (this is normal):

• Click “OK” or “Done”, do not “Move to Trash” or you'll have to re-install BootCaT.

• Open “System Settings…” from the Apple menu:

• Scroll down and click on “Privacy and Security” and then on “Open Anyway”:

• Now you'll have to confirm that you want to open BootCaT anyway:

• Finally you'll have to confirm using your password or fingerprint:

• From now on BootCaT will open normally.

Since version 10.15.X “Catalina”, MacOS prevents non-notarized applications downloaded from the Internet from running.

Since BootCaT isn't notarized, the workaround presented here is needed to and run the App.
